Mia

Mia is a light summer top.

It is worked seamlessly from the top down with the contiguous shoulder construction.

A waterfall of increases in the body and in the sleeves gives the sweater an interesting and elegant bell shape.

It is worked with a lace-weight yarn and 6 mm (US 10) needles to emphasize the softness of the fabric and the cloud effect.

The cuffs and hem are worked by joining a DK-weight strand to the lace-weight yarn.

Some short rows are used to raise the back to improve the fit of the sweater.

The instructions are given for 9 sizes, from XS to 5XL

Positive ease: 10 - 15 cm/ 4 - 6 inches

meaning that the finished garment will be approx. 10 - 15 cm (4 - 6 inches) larger in circumference than your bust.

To choose your size correctly, your bust circumference should be into these ranges:

XS 81-86 (S 87-92, M 93-98, L 99-104, XL 105-112)

(2XL 113-122, 3XL 123-132, 4XL 133-142, 5XL 143-150) cm

XS 31.75-33.75 (S 34.25-36.25, M 36.5-38.5, L 39-41, XL 41.25-44)

(2XL 44.5-48, 3XL 48.5-52, 4XL 52.25-56, 5XL 56.25-59) inches

The sample in the picture is a size S worn on a bust circumference of 89 cm / 35 inches with a positive ease of 13 cm / 5 inches knitted in Norli Silky mohair Champagne + Midi Cotton Milk.

Gauge:16 sts x 19 rows with 6 mm (US 10) needles for 10 cm/4 inches in stockinette stitch.

If your gauge doesn’t match, your final sweater proportions are not going to be true to size. Adjust your needle size accordingly to meet gauge. 

Needle size: 6 mm (US 10) circular needles of 40, 60, 80 and/or 100 cm (16, 24, 32 and/or 40 inches).

Notions: 10 stitch markers, scissors, tapestry needle

Yarn weight: lace-weight yarn is used throughout the top (210 m / 230 yards - 25 g) and DK-weight yarn is added at the hem and cuffs (105 m / 115 yards - 50g). 

Suggested yarn: Norli Silky Mohair (70% super kid mohair and 30% silk, 210 m / 230 yards - 25 g) and Norli MidiCOTTON (100% cotton 105 m / 115 yards - 50g).
